Things to do in Sedona at night
Updated November 3, 2026 · facts checked against the sources below
Sedona is quiet at night, and that's the point. The town protects its dark skies, so evenings are about sunsets and stars rather than nightlife.

Start with sunset
Airport Mesa is the classic sunset spot. Arrive 45 to 60 minutes early, because both its lots fill. Crescent Moon Picnic Site is a quieter option, with evening light on Cathedral Rock, but check its closing time.
Then look up
Sedona became the world's eighth International Dark Sky Community in 2014. A guided stargazing tour brings telescopes and a guide. Or drive a few minutes from town lights on a night near the new moon.
Holiday evenings
In December, Tlaquepaque's tree lighting and the Festival of Lights, with thousands of luminarias, are Sedona's biggest night events.
Questions people ask
Is Sedona good for stargazing?
